Our extra-curricular highlights
On Saturday 25th April, a group of Wewak Street School students proudly represented our school at the ANZAC Day march along Dean Street. Students met with other schools from across the region to take part in this important community event, showing respect and pride as they marched.
Highlights of the day included seeing the planes and helicopters overhead, as well as the large crowds lining the streets in support. Following the march, Joss and Declan attended the service at the monument, where they demonstrated outstanding respect and maturity.
Thank you to all of the students, families, carers, and staff who supported the day and helped make it such a meaningful experience. Lest we forget.
Work Experience
Work education at Wewak Street School is diverse and is so much more than preparing for a job — it’s about having experiences to prepare for life after school. It includes stepping into a variety of work sites to build knowledge about communication and safety in the workplace, developing foundational life skills to access the community with confidence i.e., travel training, as well as pathways such as courses, volunteering, recreation and exploring TAFES and day programs.
Trips and excursions
Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world.
Multi Sports Days
Our students participate in 7 activities in a round robin style.
Each group rotates through skill-based activities for Boccia, Basketball, Netball, Golf, Pickleball, NRL and Soccer.
